Betty Moon – My Only One

Betty Moon is a songwriter, music and film producer who lives and works in Los Angeles California where she operates Evolver Music Inc. Her music has been featured in a variety of television shows and films including Californication, Dexter, Bounty Hunters, Teen Mom, Walking the Dead, Last Gasp and the film Butter starring Mira Sorvino.

My Only One is an older song, released 16/04/2021 and was the first song from her tenth album Cosmicoma, which she produced herself and released on her own label.

My Only One is a diverse track, drawing on influences from a multitude of genres and pays homage to music from the late 90’s / early 2000’s.

The guitar work on the track is slightly distorted and this gives the song a grungey vibe while electronic beats and synths gives us a nostalgic nod back to the alternative scene of 90’s rock. The guitar keeps its melody all the way through the track and the solos that pop up are simply epic.

Betty’s vocals are amazing. Her voice is warm and inviting, pulling you in to the track while maintaining a strong stance with its strength and portrayal of the lyrics. Multi-layered backing vocals accompany her to great effect, giving the track an almost haunting feel. Betty’s voice also has a range that extends from low sultry tones, to the more high pitched ones and she totally commands the track, even the fuzziness of the guitars, although a prominent feature, not managing to overshadow her.

The track is a gritty rock track with some rock pop influences thrown in for good measure and I think will appeal to a wide-ranging audience.

A great track from a very talented lady who has already amassed a large following on social media and Spotify as well as standing out to hundreds of reputable media outlets.

I’m off to Spotify to hear some more, I suggest you all do too!
