Agent Envy – No Friend

Agent Envy is a New York-based artist and producer, and No Friend is her latest song, released on 09/12/2022.

Being close to music her whole life, she started voice, piano, and guitar lessons, as well as song writing and musical theatre at an early age. She takes inspiration from 90’s rock, metal, and industrial artists like Deftones, Massive Attack, Tool, Nine Inch Nails and Nirvana, as well as more subtle influences from more recent musicians like Metric, St. Vincent, Phantogram, PVRIS, and BANK.

No Friend is an anthemic track which blends the dirty guitars of grunge rock / alternative rock with the vibes of a classic rock / heavy metal band.

The guitar work is phenomenal, ranging from fuzzy riffs to clean solos and throughout the track, apart from the vocals, the guitars are the main driving force. Funky basslines shine through, and the drumming is top-notch.

The vocals are strong and full of 90’s emo attitude. There is pure emotion in the singer’s voice, and this really makes the song stand out. Not upbeat, but not quite a ballad, the track has a strong presence, and this really makes the listener sit up and take notice.

I loved this track the first time I heard it and I think a lot of people will too as I think the song will have a wide reach.

Excellent work and I can’t wait to hear more!
