Metalcore has always been a genre that had eluded me for a long time, but I am now starting to get more and more into it and with bands like Advents coming to the forefront of the genre, I will be a huge fan in no time!
Advents are a five-piece band from New York, USA, and wow what a track from their debut EP!
Mixing aggression, passion and vulnerability, the theme of the song, “the flaws that come with being human and finding the strength to move through life’s hardest trials,” will hit hard with a lot of listeners.
A great mix of clean vocals and metalcore screams, along with the crunching riffs of the guitars and impressive drumming, this band is enthusiastic, energetic, and aggressive. Switching effortlessly and seamlessly from hard rock to alternative rock to full on metalcore, these guys could have been doing this for years! The track is well produced, and their professionalism and talent are clear to see.
I love the changes of tempo throughout the song, meaning there is always something going on to keep the listener engaged, and flitting from hard hitting aggression to polished melodies shows just how diverse a band they really are.
With Bring Me The Horizon, Falling In Reverse and Parkway Drive vibes, I personally think this band could go far, and I would love to see them do just that!
Please go and check them out, I think you would regret it if you didn’t!
